We've been very quiet. We know!
Wanted to tell you about this show we're doing on December 12th. If you live in Toronto and want to see it in the flesh, head over to www.northerntickets.com/events/bruce-peninsula/ to get tickets.
However, if you live elsewhere, you can still watch us play by tuning in at http://www.wiredcitymusicfest.com, who are presenting the show and will livestream it all night long. We play at 11pm!
Otherwise, the silence has just been a product of living life. Steve had a baby, Misha went back to school, we all have busy jobs... On the music front, there are solo records from Steve, Andrew, Ivy, Neil and Tamara all in the 75% done zone. We've also started working very slowly on BP LP III but it's gonna be some time before you hear about that!
Thanks for checking in every now and then. We are excited to get together to play again. Hopefully that momentum sticks in the winter months...

Summer
This summer has easily been one of the best in Bruce Peninsula's lifetime. Aside from the usual hanging around and drinking beers and eating freezies and swimming in lakes, we had the pleasure to go to the Klondike. It was an experience that none of us will soon forget and we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the organizers of the Dawson City Music Festival and anybody that made us feel at home so far afield. It was the best festival we've ever taken part in and if you ever have the opportunity to go to the Yukon, we highly recommend that you take it.
If that wasn't enough, we turned right around when we got home to hit Sappyfest in Sackville, NB, which is something we all look forward to each year. Many of us have gone as spectators in year's past but this was our first time playing since 2008 (our very first tour!). Paul and Jon and all the people that make Sackville the weird little utopia that it is... thank you!
We are off to play our very first show on the real Bruce Peninsula next week and then Toronto, Montreal and Wakefield on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th. We hope you can join us! Fall will inevitably come and we'll have to get back to reality but for now we pray for endless summer.

Spring Thaw
You may have noticed that things have been moving slowly around here. We have laid low all winter but we are finally starting to shake the rust off and are about to come out of hiding.
There are some appearances on the horizon and we'll add them in the shows section as we confirm them. We added some just now, including the one we're most excited about; the Dawson City Music Festival. We couldn't be more pumped up about visiting the territories for the first time and so grateful to be invited to the festival.
Other than that... something great is going to happen on April 24th... check in with us then.

In Your Light Video! Bruce Mixtape!
We are pleased to bring you the third video from Open Flames, a new piece by Jesse Ewles with production help from Mike Juneau. Whales strike back at poachers! BP gets corrugated! We hope you like it.
Also noteworthy is a new Soundcloud mixtape put together by the folks at The Line of Best Fit. It features a Bruce Peninsula song from each of our releases, as well as a track from each of the various side projects that have orbited around BP over the years. It includes songs from the projects of former members like Taylor, Katie and Casey and nearly all of the current members. There's an interview to go along with it too (which you can read here), but the full mix is embedded below.

The Weather Station / Myrrh Remix -------
We're happy to be sending out the word that BP member Tamara Lindeman's brand new record "All of It Was Mine"
Is now available via You've Changed Records.
In celebration of this record's one week anniversary, please wander down the Bruce Trail a little further and check out a brand new remix of
The Weather Station's "Everything I Saw" by Bruce Peninsula's own Matt Cully aka Myrrh aka EONS.
""I wanted to remix a track that was seemingly un-remixable; a soft, sweet folk song that wouldn't lend itself easily to new skin. While electronic at the core, I've tried to maintain the organic, earthy roots of the original while offering a whole new context... a different perspective in another dimension - MC"

Salesman
So, here it is, the last installment in the Fire Sale before we put it aside for a little while to focus on LP #2 (out October 4th). Our friends at Exploding Motor Car have made this beautiful new video for Salesman, another new song written by Matt and Misha and released exclusively as part of this web series. We hope you like it.
Huge thanks to ECM. We are honoured to have worked with them. They make our favourite videos.

Southern Souls Cover Songs
Mitch Fillion, the man behind the brilliant Southern Souls, joined us on Toronto island a few weeks ago to film the first group of songs for a series that features each member of Bruce Peninsula taking on a song written by someone they know. Daniela played MGMT, Matt covered the Silt, Andrew played Alex Lukashevsky and Ivy took on a Skydiggers songs. Stay tuned for 6 more of these as the summer rolls on. For now, we hope you enjoy these as much as we enjoyed making them.

Fire Sale Installment # 2
It's a beautiful thing they have going there. Nestled atop a pizza joint in Rock Island, IL, you'd never know that the Daytrotter guys record a couple bands a day every single day at their unassuming studio. They were very inviting and patient with us, considering none of us had ever done a live-off-the-floor, get-it-right-quick taping before.
Rock Island is part of the Quad Cities, uniting with Davenport, Bettendorf and Moline. When we finished up, the DT guys pointed us over the bridge and into Iowa, where we found a casino / hotel / cruise ship that had cheap rooms. A bottle of tequila, some pizza, a little gambling and too much Wife Swap later, I can safely say it produced one of the best memories we've got.
Hope you enjoy it. Be sure to check out everything Daytrotter has to offer. You could be online for days.

Summer Time
We're gonna spend our time on docks and bikes this summer, getting reacquainted with the good parts of being in a band, so it's not going to be a jam-packed season of shows for Bruce Peninsula. However, we did just book a couple and we will be posting details very shortly. It's been a long time since our last one (all painted up as skeletons at the Horseshoe in October) so we're really looking forward to it.
Thanks to everyone that has visited the site in the last few days and to those who have passed The Swimming Song around on their Facebook and Twitters. Check back in here on April 26th for the second installment of the Fire Sale.
Oh and Small Town Murder Songs, the movie that features lots of our music is having screenings in Waterloo and Ottawa and a handful of film festivals over the next month or so. Check out the film's website or Facebook for details.
Don't forget to grease your chain before your first ride!

Ta da!
Welcome to the online home of Bruce Peninsula and the Bruce Trail Fire Sale. Our friend Ted worked tirelessly to bring you all these crazy layers and we couldn't be happier. Ted works at night so our schedules were pretty much inverted and it was tough for him to get answers out of us because we were always sleeping when he was working. Our endless thanks to him for persevering.
Hit up the audio and video tree limbs to hear our version of The Swimming Song and stay tuned for the next installment in the series. We'll be posting that on April 26th.
Thanks for sticking with us through the tough times.
Here's to the good road ahead of us!

Ch-ch-ch-changes
Hello!
We're giving this site a complete overhaul today. Just wanted to warn you in case we're mid-stream and things look a little funny around here.
Today is also the first day of the Bruce Trail Fire Sale. You should be hearing more about that in the next few hours.
Check back later for a beautiful new site made by renaissance man Ted White.
Stay tuned.

Remission
Just a quick word to say that Neil is officially done his chemotherapy and is now in remission. Now that the nice weather has hit, he's working on getting back in shape and BP are gonna spend the spring getting reacquainted and rehearsing, but stay tuned for show announcements and more details about our record. You should also probably check back here late this or early next week. We've been scheming.
Thanks for your continued support through this terrible winter.
We hope to see you all very soon.
